As a research-led institution we are well placed to deliver an excellent student experience. Programmes and modules of study are delivered by academic staff who both teach and undertake world-leading research and/or scholarship in their disciplines, supporting our students on their journey to discover and understand. Teaching staff include professional personnel directly involved in teaching students, including classroom teachers, special education teachers and other teachers who work with students as a whole class, in small groups, or in one-to-one teaching. Teaching staff also include department chairs of whose duties include some teaching, but it does not include non-professional personnel who support teachers in providing.
A robust, transparent and accessible continuous development programme is in place for all members of staff. The school allocates substantial funds to this programme on an annual basis as it believesthat staff are the school’s most significant resource. The aim of the CPD is to ensure the constant upgrading of staff competencies and their alignment with international standards. An annual performance development system allows for ongoing review of standards and professional growth.
